Ice Cream Treats and Birthday Sweets

As I look through the stuff I've done recently, one of the things I am most proud of is this "summer board" I did for one of my student teaching projects. The classroom I was in was for toddlers, and they needed an updated birthday board. Since the kids were so interested in ice cream, I stuck with that theme. "Ice Cream treats and birthday sweets" is a display that looks like an ice cream parlor. To me, it's self explanatory, but if you have questions just email me!

The kids faces are in between their name and birth date on each ice cream scoop.Then of course, there is ice cream dripping down from the hot summer days! I laminated everything so that it could be taken down and reused. (PS don't let the butterflies fool you, they are just in the reflection!)

Jon's Bday Gift

I'll Start with something easy. Last week, Jon (my boyfriend) turned 30. After repeatedly being told he didn't want anything for his May 1st birthday, I decided I was going to make him something a little different instead. I put together this May Day basket instead and left it on his door step.

Of coarse, I had to put 30 things in there. So starting with 30, his card is what he began with...

The things I included were: 30 Card 29 The green basket I put everything in 28 Wood plank for cooking meat (he's a grill-master) 27 Button up shirt 26 Hot Sauce (kind of an obsession he has) 25 Water balls (for his pool) 24 Grill sheet (again, grill master) 23 Dark chocolate bar 22 Bottle of liquor 21 Cigars 20 Wine stopper 19 Beer (his favorite 6 pack) 18 Beer 17 Beer 16 Beer 15 Beer 14 Beer 13 Camp Table (one of his favorite things!) 12 Travel mug (for coffee) 11 K-kups (obviously for the Keurig) 10 Scratch card 9 Swim trunks 8 Light floater (for his pool) 7 Light floater 6 Light floater 5 Light floater 4 Sleep lotion (B&BW aromatherapy) 3 Energy candle (B&BW aromatherapy) 2 Smoke chips for the grill 1 Hammock (for his farm) So all you out there who can't think of something to get a special guy, this was a fun idea! He loved going through everything and I think the fact that nothing was wrapped made it less intrusive!
